Klin Thai Derm is a collection of art toy car perfumes inspired by female characters from Thai literature. This project reinterprets these heroines through contemporary design, connecting each character with the cultural identity of different regions in Thailand.
Each piece functions as both a decorative object and a usable scent product, designed to accompany users in their daily journeys. Beyond aesthetics, the collection explores themes of love, perseverance, and emotional growth reflecting how these characters endure challenges and transform through time.
By combining storytelling, scent, and design, Klin Thai Derm brings Thai literature closer to everyday life in a modern and accessible form.
Design Process
The project began by selecting six female characters from Thai literature and analyzing their narratives, personalities, and symbolic meanings. Each character was reinterpreted into a contemporary art toy form, incorporating regional elements such as cultural motifs, costume, and local identity.
The process included sketching, 3D modeling, texturing, and developing functional structures for use as car diffusers. Special attention was given to balancing aesthetics and usability, ensuring each piece functions as both a narrative object and a product.
Material exploration, including transparent and metallic finishes, was used to enhance visual storytelling and emphasize key character elements.
